Now in his fourth season, Poga serves as the artistic director and principal conductor of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra (LNSO). Since winning First Prize of the Evgeny Svetlanov International Conducting Competition in Montpellier in May 2010, he has established himself as a conductor with rare musical, intellectual and emotional talents. Christian Merlin from Le Figaro praised the conductor’s work with the Orchestra de Paris describing how he “immediately took control of the orchestra through his outstanding technical skill and sheer strength.”
