The Pink Panther in Concert
The iconic, Grammy Award-winning musical score for the classic comedy "The Pink Panther" - On Tour
About
The Pink Panther in Concert - On Tour celebrates 55 years since the release of the film in April 1964.
The Pink Panther in Concert - On Tour will feature a 30 member orchestra from the Henry Mancini Institute at the Frost School of Music (University of Miami) led by resident conductor Scott Flavin. The Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra will perform Henry Mancini's award-winning and beloved score live with the film.
The popularity of Peter Sellers' mischievous detective inspector led this franchise to international acclaim and inspired ten sequels. . . . The original film featured David Niven, Robert Wagner, Capucine, and Claudia Cardinale alongside Sellers, following the hapless Inspector Clouseau as he tries to catch the Phantom, an infamous jewel thief believed to be after a rare treasure: the Pink Panther diamond. "The Pink Panther" pairs robbers and princesses, playboys and detectives, and features one of the most beloved theme songs in film.
"The Pink Panther" was nominated in 1963 for an Oscar ® for Best Music, a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical, and a Grammy for Best Original Score Written for a Motion Picture or Television Show. The film won an ASCAP Award in 1988, when Mancini's theme was chosen as the Most Performed Feature Film Standard. "The Pink Panther" was recently selected for the Library of Congress's National Film Registry due to cultural significance.
