Praised for her “lustrous” tone (Opera News) and “beautifully polished” presentation (San Francisco Chronicle), soprano Amina Edris is proving herself an exciting young talent. Born in Egypt, raised and trained in New Zealand, Amina participated in San Francisco Opera’s Merola Program during which she made her well-received debut as Norina (Don Pasquale).

Subsequently becoming an Adler Fellow at San Francisco Opera, Edris has over the past two seasons debuted as Frasquita (Carmen), Contessa Ceprano (Rigoletto), Annina (La Traviata) and in the world-premiere of Bright Sheng’s Dream of the . . .
