Italian-American tenor Marco Cammarota has garnered praise for his “dark, handsome, dangerous” and “gleaming voice" (The Opera Critic). He began the 2017-2018 season with a return to Arizona Opera for a role debut as Mario Cavaradossi in Tosca after debuting there last season as Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly. Other recent engagements include Don Jose in a special shortened version of Carmen at the Washington National Opera, Macduff in Verdi’s Macbeth with the Glimmerglass Festival, Mitch in A Streetcar Named Desire with Kentucky Opera and Nemorino in L'elisir d'amore at Opera Santa Barbara . . .
