Bass Anthony Robin Schneider made his Vienna State Opera debut as the Ghost of Hector in David McVicar’s production of Les Troyens conducted by Alain Altinoglu to open the 2018-2019 season. Additional season highlights include a debut with the Cleveland Orchestra as Truffaldino in Ariadne auf Naxos conducted by Fraz Welser-Möst, a debut at Oper Frankfurt as Der Wirt in a new Damiano Michieletto production of Der ferne Klang conducted Sebastian Weigle, and a return to Wolf Trap Opera for Der Tod in Der Kaiser von Atlantis and Duc de Hoël in Le vin herbé . . .
