The Berliner Philharmoniker has been at the center of Berlin's musical life for more than 100 years. Regarded throughout the world as one of the most distinguished symphony orchestras performing at the highest level, its unique manner of playing has been influenced by Artistic Directors Hans von Bülow, Artur Nikisch, Wilhelm Furtwängler, Sergiu Celibidache, Hebert von Karajan and Claudio Abbado.
